East 8 New York Fusion Tapas + Bar

The exterior layout of this place is enough to make you have a few more glance when you walk pass. Of course we did not just happen to walk pass. Reservation is strongly encourage if you do not want to miss out some good tapas!

I was blown away by the cover of the menu. Having a very eye catching and interesting food menu is definitely a plus point.

And here's another one.

Fresh Hamachi with Sesame, Soy Dressing and Black Caviar

I love this dish. The raw fish is so fresh and the soy dressing goes just right with it. And as you can see, they are very generous with the caviar too. And I thought that the price was really reasonable.

Price: $15

Buffalo Mozarella Cheese, Proscuitto Ham Topped with Truffle Mayo

The texture of the mozarella cheese is just right and it's of bite size chunks which makes it easier for consuming. The parma ham is thinly sliced but not too thin that you can't feel any thickness.

Price: $18

Poached Lobster Wrapped in Proscuitto Ham Doubled with Crispy Nori and Beancurd Skin

This dish is not in the main menu but in the menu of the shape of a vinyl record. Great combination of the crispy beancurd skin, seaweed, parma ham and lobster. I'm not too sure if this is in one of the permanent menu. But if you see this, order it!

Price: $25

We also ordered the Sweet Chili Crispy Chicken Thigh Marinated in Shrimp Sauce. However the hungry me must have forgotten to take an individual pic of it.

Price: $12

Streets of London @ British Hainan

A friend of mine opened this restaurant located at Carpmael Road. It is a joint venture between my friend's family and the Chef from Streets of London Bukit Merah.

It is a place where not only you can enjoy great British inspired food, you may also be blown away by the wide variety of the antiques that they display in the restaurant. By the way, if you can buy them home too.

I am not a fan of antique seriously. However it is really interesting to walk around the restaurant and start looking at each piece of item that probably existed few decades ago.

Remember this public telephone? You can't really find them around now.

IPA chicken

A well marinated boneless chicken leg cooked till tender. It is served with mashed potatoes and vegetables.

Price: $12.90

SOL Sambal Wings

It comes in 6 pieces for 1 serving. Well marinated, a little spicy but adds on a great taste to  it.

Price: $8

Clams with White Wine Sauce

So you can choose if you want fries or bread as the side. I've ordered half a kg and was really lucky as that was the last portion they have for the night. The half kg is good for one and pretty filling with the fries that I have ordered. Will like it more if it is a little saltier.

Price: $15 for 1/2 kg

Brownie

The brownie is off menu. Thus you have to request for it. It's specially made by the assistant chef and it's delicious!

There is no GST and service charge, so whatever you see on the menu is whatever that you are going to pay. Very reasonable price and decent food! Do drop by to give them your support!

Addictions Cafe and Remedy Bar

Located at The Dining Edition in Marina Square. It is at the side whereby Marks and Spencer is. There are a couple of new restaurants and it is not difficult to spot Addictions among the restaurants given its clean and modern layout.

I love the design of the menu which is presented with a piece of paper on a piece of board. The little details and carvings on the board really amazed me with how much effort was put in just on a piece of menu that many restaurants have neglected.

Truffle Fries

There was nothing special or worth mentioning about the truffle fries. It tasted just like how many average restaurants would have prepared them. I will not suggest to spend $10 on this.

Price: $10

Papardelle with fresh squid, prawn and chargrilled egg plant in tomato basil sauce

I was excited when I see Papardelle under the pasta section. I love thick and long pasta after my first try in Italy last year. It's not easy to find such pasta in most restaurants. The tomato base sauce is a tad too sour for my liking. I couldn't finish the entire plate as it was really too sour. I believe the pasta are not handmade and the texture is not as good too. I felt that the price is a little too expensive for the taste.

Price: $23

Linguine with crab meat in cherry tomato sauce

Once again the sauce is too sour. I don't think the sauce used for both pasta are identical but it got to be somewhat similar.

Price: $23

I am not sure if I will come back again, but if I did, I will never order the pasta again.
