Palio

Located at RWS and this is my 4th visit to this Italian Restaurant. I often patronized the place when I'm at RWS and wanted to find somewhere for some comfortable decent dinner.

Complimentary bread

Soup of the day (Minestrone)

The minestrone is rich with the taste of tomatoes and there are chunks of vegetables like broccoli in the soup.

Price: $12

Porcini

The mushroom soup is thick and creamy. If you are a fan of mushroom soup, this will be a must try for you. You are able to taste little bites of mushrooms too.

Price: $14

Prsociutto e Melon

This is my favorite antipasti and one of the must order when I have Italian food. The ham and the melon goes perfectly well together when you taste the saltiness and sweetness together.

Price: $20

Prosciutto e Funghi

The crust of the pizza is thin and crispy. It is tomato sauce based with mushroom, mozzarella cheese and cooked ham. Although it is not as good as the one at Pepperoni (that's my personal opinion), it is also one of the better that I have tasted. It's definitely worth giving it a try.

Price: $26

Pici con Aragostelle e Zucchine allo Zafferano

The pastas are homemade and fresh. This is eggless Pici pasta (a thick hand rolled pasta liked a fat spaghetti) cooked with crayfish meat and zucchini in Iranian Saffron Pistils cream sauce.

Price: $28

The Tiramisu Hero

The first thing that you get amazed by this place is the layout and the doodling on the wall. You see white ladders sticked on the ceiling and the white walls make the place look bigger, cleaner and brighter.

Seriously, even the toilet! It makes me wanna stay in the toilet forever. It is so clean and when you look up, there are so many colourful poms poms hanging from the ceiling.

Baked Chessy Chicken

The boneless chicken leg is baked with cheese, served with mushrooms, greens and some biscuits.

Price: $17

Bangers with Mashed Potatoes

I do like the mashed potatoes as it is not too mashy and I can tasted some small chunks of potatoes. The taste of the potatoes are strong and it is thick too. The sausages are a little dry though.

Price: $15

Tiramisu

We ordered 2 MommaHero. One is chocolate and the other is Horlicks. Both taste just as good. I have tried the Milo flavor one before and I like that even more.

Overall, I would say that I only enjoyed the Tiramisu. The food was so so. And I guess for the same price, I can get much tastier food. I would really love to see improved version of food served here as I really like the layout of the cafe.

Department of Caffeine

After reading countless of good reviews and rave about this place, we finally set our feet here. We were lucky enough to be able to get a seat for 2 in less than 5 mins. Not too long after that we saw some people waiting at the door.

It's quite a small place and they wouldn't allow you to be seated while waiting for your friends to come. We overheard the staff telling the girl seated beside us. Well I can definitely understand why the need for this guide lines. There are really too little tables around and hogging on to the table waiting for your friend to be here when you don't order anything is wasting the space seriously. The staff was friendly and was tactful with his words while explaining the rules to the lady. And luckily she was an understanding lady too.

Flat White

One of the best coffee that I have drank. A simple cup of flat white tells you all about the coffee quality they have.

Price: $5

Lavender and Honey Cake

The very first time tasting a honey cake! I love anything that is honey flavored. This is a cake that I can never have enough! I'm not so much of a lavender person though. However, the combination of honey and lavender is acceptable to me.

Price: $5

Buttermilk waffles with blueberry compote

Great waffles, strong aroma, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. The blueberry is not too sour and it goes perfectly well with the waffle with a slight butter taste.

Price: $13.50

DOC Breakfast Platter

The fluffiness of the scrambled eggs really amazed me. It's wet, fluffy with a pinch of salt and pepper. The tomato is another surprise. The skin was removed and it's cooked but not overcooked. I love meat loaf but we seldom get to see it. The meatloaf is wrapped with bacon and served on a slice of brioche. It also comes with 2 deep fried bocconcini. Fabulous!

Price: $18.50

This place does not accept credit card, therefore please remember to have enough cash on you when you visit!
